The state Department of Environmental Conservation has granted the town of Jay $66,960 through the Smart Growth program to update the town’s comprehensive plan. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, the current comprehensive plan was last updated in 1997, and officials say the housing market has been significantly affected by the increase in short-term rentals.
