Some local officials are preparing to submit applications for the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grants, with hopes of securing $10 million for community improvement projects. Among the applicants are the Town of North Elba and the Village of Lake Placid. The proposed funding would be used to develop a bike and pedestrian-friendly corridor in Lake Placid, enhancing the area from Station Street to the lower end of Main Street. The project aims to improve accessibility and create a more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
