It was a day of inspiration in Saranac Lake Sept. 30 when a 12-year-old Texas boy became an honorary member of five local law enforcement agencies. The Saranac Lake Police Department launched a local fundraising mission in August to help bring DJ Daniel north to town. Sun Community News reports
DJ is battling a rare and terminal form of brain and spinal cancer and between the difficult rounds of medical treatment hoped to be sworn in at as many law enforcement agencies as possible, fulfilling his young dreams of being in uniform to serve and protect.
