Fish culturists from the state Department of Environmental Conservation’s Adirondack Fish Hatchery in Lake Clear slid 38 landlocked Atlantic salmon, rainbow trout, brown trout and splake under the surface of Lake Colby on Monday. According to the Adirondack Daily Enteprise, of the fish, 18 were tagged with small plastic lines marking them as prize-winners for the 41st annual Colby Classic Ice Fishing Derby this weekend, on March 1 and 2.
