Fire crews battled flames at Whiteface Lodge in Lake Placid Wednesday night. WNYT reports there were about five firetrucks and 50-60 firefighters on scene. It took crews about 30 – 45 minutes to knock down. Staff at Whiteface informed them guests must spend the night a separate hotel, after concerns about a leaking sprinkler, elevator damage, and safety issues. Staff members were shuttling guests to the Cambria Hotel in Lake Placid as of 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
