Lake Placid Village officials recently adopted a new policy to educate the public on the safe operation of electric scooters, bikes and skateboards. According to the policy, all EV operators must wear protective gear, obey traffic laws, be visible, stay alert, ride defensively, check equipment before riding, and avoid hazardous equipment. It also encourages using designated bike lanes and multi-use paths while being mindful of other pedestrians.
