Lake Placid Man Charged With Violating Order Of Protection

A Lake Placid man who eluded police after allegedly violating an order of protection was apprehended and arrested Saturday, June 5. At about 2 a.m. Saturday morning, State Troopers responded to a call from a residence on Cottonwood Way in North Elba from someone seeking help during an incident of domestic violence. Their investigation revealed that the victim had an order of protection against Jonathan M. Sears, 31, but that he had allegedly entered the residence despite that and started an altercation. Sears was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
