In Lake Placid, all parking meters throughout the village are now hardwired with fiber-optic networking.
This upgrade to the 34 meters came about because the new steeple at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Hillcrest Avenue, which was added back in June 2024, started interfering with cell service — more specifically, the north end of Main Street near High Peaks Resort.
