In Wilmington, the Sun Community News reports though current Supervisor Favor J. Smith (R, I) was named on the ballot, he had withdrawn from the race, leaving Timothy John Follos (I) on the facing a write-in campaign announcement from Sam Haselton. Follos received 81 votes to 53 write-ins.
There were four candidates on the ballot for two open seats on the town council: Hanna Cromie (D), Mindy Goddeau (I), Karl Von Entress (R) and Randy Winch (I). In unofficial early numbers, Winch received 78, Cromie 73, Goddeau 45 and Von Entress with 16, though there were 49 write-in votes cast.
