U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer and U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand announced that they secured $5,000,000 in federal funding for critical North Country projects in the pending fiscal year (FY) 2026 spending bill currently being voted on in the House of Representatives and expected to come to a vote in the Senate later this month. Recipients include the Trudeau Institute Inc. which is getting $2,500,000 for modernization of instrumentation and analytical capabilities. The project will modernize instrumentation to improve disease research, strengthen U.S. biodefense, and support biotechnology innovation at Trudeau Institute while equipping individuals with the skills and training needed to meet the job demands of advanced instrumentation.
