The Town of St. Armand will hold a meeting on February 19, 2026 to discuss the Lake Colby Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) planned for 199 Trudeau Road, Saranac Lake. The project by Roxford Solar A LLC includes four 5-megawatt battery units that store energy when demand is low and release it when demand is high. The system runs automatically and is monitored around the clock. Safety measures follow national and state fire codes, including UL 9540 and NFPA 855 standards. The plan includes coordination and training with the St. Armand Fire Department, 24/7 monitoring, and annual safety walkthroughs.
