St. Bernard’s School is turning a large financial gift from an alum into an investment in the K-5 private Catholic school’s future, with plans to add playground equipment, start an endowment to support higher staff pay and make needed building upgrades. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Daniel Kilpeck attended St. Bernard’s School from 1946 to 1953, spending first grade through eighth grade at the building on River Street. When Kilpeck passed away in November, he left the school his IRA.
