Former Keeseville Resident Charged With SNAP Benefits Fraud

A former Keeseville resident was arrested Friday accused of falsely receiving more than $5,000 in SNAP benefits she wasn’t entitled to. Sun Community News reports New York State Police arrested Dakota Wommer, 25 of Williamsport, PA, on charges of third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing and first-degree falsifying business records. An investigation determined that while living in Keeseville, Dakota reportedly falsified multiple Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications by failing to report employment income, resulting in an overpayment of approximately $5,521.80.
