Initiative Warns Drivers, ‘Stay Awake, Stay Alive’

Daylight Saving Time is now underway, and the New York State Partnership Against Drowsy Driving (NYPDD) is warning drivers that the time change can put them at risk of drowsy driving, increasing their odds of getting in a fatal crash. Sun Community News reports the partnership is promoting a “Stay Awake! Stay Alive!” message before and after the time change to highlight the dangers of drowsy driving. It is also focusing an education campaign on young drivers and providing training for commercial vehicle drivers, which are two of the groups that are most at risk of driving while drowsy or fatigued.
