The 44th Empire State Winter Games torch relay concludes its five-day, 700-mile journey here at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1 at the opening ceremony for the four-day event. The torch relay begins Sunday, Jan. 28, and will converge on Feb. 1 and head to Lake Placid for the final leg. A welcoming ceremony is happening in Tupper Lake Community Bank, 75 Park St., 12:30 p.m. on the first and at Saranac Lake Community Bank, 46 Broadway, Saranac Lake at 2:30 p.m.
