Lake Placid is planning its annual Fourth of July celebration, complete with a parade down Main Street. The organizing committee is encouraging organizations, civic groups, individuals, businesses and others to participate in this year’s parade on Thursday, July 4, at 5 p.m. Sun Community News reports all parade floats and participants will be automatically entered into a contest, with trophies awarded in a variety of categories: civic, volunteer, school, business, independent, and most patriotic.
