The 9th annual Adirondack Champlain Regional Salt Summit packed the Lake Placid Conference Center for much of Tuesday. The event focused on ways to reduce salt use for treating surfaces during winter. Attendees were able to learn more about private contractors and public agencies, such as the state Department of Environmental Conservation, who were focused on spearheading efforts to reduce salt use while maintaining safe surfaces in winter, reports the Adirondack Daily Enterprise.
