The Lake Placid Public Library has extended the length of its book loans from 14 to 28 days. Not sure how to use the extra reading time? Lake Placid librarians have a few book recommendations. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports Assistant Librarian Madonna Barney said the extended loans will save staff time since they won’t have to call people as frequently about late books. She said they have some patrons who don’t live in the area and even call from other countries to extend loans until they are back in town.
