A Jay woman was arrested on several charges Sunday, including fourth-degree grand larceny, related to allegations that she understated her income on an application for SNAP benefits. On Aug. 18, State Police first received information from Essex County Department of Social Services, which suspected Bonnie J. Crevier, 53, of welfare fraud. They claimed that by failing to include income from a part-time job, operating an Airbnb and a business, she received an overpayment of about $2,246. In addition to fourth-degree grand larceny, Crevier was also charged with fourth-degree welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, and first-degree falsifying business records.
