The cause of death for the Georgia man that died in a Whiteface Mountain skiing incident has been released.
Updates came Tuesday morning New York State Police. They say the cause of death for 44-year-old Michael Vacek Jr., of Atlanta, GA was found to be blunt force trauma to the chest. The autopsy was conducted at Glens Falls Hospital, where the body was taken after the incident. Vacek was reported missing by friends at 10:00 a.m. after he failed to return while skiing. A search was initiated, and Vacek was discovered in the tree line along the Upper/Lower Skyward Trail.
