Tupper Lake Man Charged With Stealing Personal Funds

State Police arrested 32-year-old Joshua C. Stevens of Tupper Lake, following an investigation initiated on December 28, 2020, regarding a misappropriation of funds from the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities at Sunmount in Tupper Lake. The investigation revealed that Stevens, a Sunmount staff member, stole money from the personal funds of a person receiving supports, and forged another staff member’s signature on an official document. Stevens was charged with Grand Larceny 4th degree, Offering a False Instrument for Filing 1st degree, Forgery 3rd degree, and Official Misconduct. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to the town of Tupper Lake Court. This case remains under investigation.
