State Police arrested Joseph C. Briggs, 41, of North Elba, for Burglary, Criminal Use of a Firearm and Criminal Mischief.
On April 29, 2022, at approximately 9:09 p.m., police were called to Old Military Road in the town of North Elba for a report of a burglary in progress. A preliminary investigation determined that Briggs went to the victim’s home with a shotgun and kicked the door to get inside. During the investigation it was determined that Briggs discharged one round into the ceiling of the residence. There were no injuries during the incident.
