Lake Placid Board Takes Action On Sewer Rates, Boat Laws

The Lake Placid Village Board of Trustees this week passed two local laws that raised village sewer rates by around 5% and established a 5 mph motorboat speed limit on Mirror Lake and Mill Pond. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports one law sets a 5 mph speed limit for motorboats and prohibits the use of electric hydrofoil surfboards on Mirror Lake and Mill Pond.
Also, the sewer rate hike will help the village build up sewer fund reserves and pay for an estimated $7.8 million upgrade to the village’s sewer plant.
