The mayor of Saranac Lake on Monday accused village trustees of holding an “illegal meeting” without him over the weekend. According to the Adirondack Daily Enteprise, board members, in turn, denied the allegation and called for an independent investigation into a dispute between MayorJimmy Williams and Village Manager Erik Stender that led to Stender’s resignation recently.
