DOT Commissioner Marie Therese Dominguez says the agency is evaluating new areas within the Adirondack Park to conduct salt reduction pilot programs this coming winter. Sun Community News reports each pilot study would carry through two winter seasons with a goal to “establish minimum standards for salt application policies and practices that all municipal winter management operations (state, county, town, village) should follow throughout the park.”
