The Tupper Lake Town Council will meet Thursday to vote on adopting the town’s 2024 budget. After a budget is adopted, Councilwoman Mary Fontana plans to resign from the council as she prepares to become the new village mayor on Dec. 1.
The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the town’s proposed $2.6 million spending plan includes a 8.2% increase in spending and surpasses the tax cap by a significant amount — the town plans to exceed the 2.6% tax cap by 4.93%.
