New Chairlift For McCauley Mountain Ski Area

It’s a new era for the McCauley Mountain Ski Area. The Adirondack Daily Enteprise reports the mountain, which is owned and operated by the town of Webb in the southwestern Adirondacks, began spinning a new Partek triple chairlift on Friday, Jan. 17. The new lift replaces a Hall double chairlift that was installed in 1973.

DOC Workers In Malone Sickened By Unknown Substance

The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision said roughly 20 staff members at Upstate Correctional Facility in Malone were sickened by an unknown substance Wednesday. Officers were reportedly escorting an inmate when he became aggressive. As the incident unfolded, several staff members near the inmate felt nauseous and began throwing up. No substances were found.
