Postal Service Extending Transit Time For Some Mail

Starting in October some of your mail could take a little longer to arrive. The Postal Service issued a public notice last week announcing one to two days are being added to the service standard for certain First-Class Mail and Periodicals. Officials say 61% of first class mail will remain at current standards.

Road Work On State Route 86 To Cause Delays

Plan for delays if you need to use a section of State Route 86 in the Town of Wilmington known as “the notch”. State Crews will be working starting today through October to make drainage repairs with alternating one-way traffic through the area. Work hours are 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Essex County Plans Equestrian Site

Essex County reveals its plans for an equestrian center and trail system on 100 acres it owns in North Hudson. According to the Explorer there will be a riding area and trails for both horses and mountain bike riders. The site is situated off Exit 29 on the Northway.

New York unveils the Excelsior Pass Plus program which allows individuals to show they’ve received the COVID-19 vaccine or have a negative COVID-19 test. Adirondack Health Reinstates COVID-19 Testing Requirements

Adirondack Health is again requiring COVID-19 tests for all inpatient admissions and elective surgical procedures, regardless of vaccination status.
