Saranac Lake Youth Center Receives $8K Donation

The Saranac Lake Youth Center received an $8,000 donation Friday from Kingsbury Companies, LLC — a Middlesex, Vermont-based construction company that handles projects throughout the Northeast. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the donation came from a portion of the company’s profits from the Upper Locks project.

Seven Jurors Seated In Smith Murder Trial

Seven jurors were seated Thursday in the double-murder trial of Adam Smith in St. Lawrence County Court. Jury selection will continue on Friday. Twelve jurors and a number of alternates are needed. Smith, 48, of Lake Placid, is accused of killing two St. Lawrence County men last year.

Threat Against TLCSD Deemed Not Credible

A threat made to the Tupper Lake Central School District Tuesday evening was investigated by State Police overnight and found to not be credible. According to the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Superintendent Jaycee Welsh said late Wednesday afternoon that the school day went on without incident.
