The village of Saranac Lake has received a $849,937 grant for upgrades at Baldwin Park. In addtion, the Adirondack Daily Enteprise reports, the village of Tupper Lake has received $533,500 for upgrades at Flanders Park in the latest round of the state Department of State’s Local Waterfront Revitalization grant awards.

Tupper Lake Central School District Superintendent To Retire

Russ Bartlett, who has led the Tupper Lake Central School District as the superintendent for the past three-and-a-half years, announced his retirement earlier this month. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports he will be in the position until the end of the school year, rounding out 30 years of working in the district.

Forbes Wins Second Vacant Seat On Wilmington Town Council

The second vacant seat on the Wilmington Town Council was called for incumbent Darin Forbes on Wednesday. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports Forbes won the seat with 289 votes, seven votes more than incumbent Michelle Preston. Forbes, 43, is a contractor and Wilmington native who has served on the town council for 15 years.
