No Snowshoe Championships In Saranac Lake

The North Country Sports Council is not going to be able to bring the World and U.S. snowshoe championships to Saranac Lake in March, after government funding for the event was not able to be secured on a short timeline.The Aidrondack Daily Enterprise reports the event was estimated at costing around $200,000 to put on.

Two Local Fire Departments Receiving State Funding

Two local fire departments will receive state grants either for facilities or equipment as part of a $25 million package announced Friday by Gov. Kathy Hochul.
