After roughly two weeks of intense technical search and recovery efforts involving multiple local agencies and dozens of volunteers, the body of a Georgia man was recovered from the AuSable River Wednesday. According to the Sun Community News, the State Police Underwater Recovery Team located George M. Thevis, 68, in the river Oct. 12.
The 68-year-old from Atlanta had fallen into the rushing waters of the Flume Trail System Sept. 29 while taking in the scenic views near the Hungry Trout Resort.
