State Police arrested Charles L. Davenport, age 29 and Towanda M. Symonds, age 42, stemming from a 23-mile pursuit involving State Police members, Malone Village Police Department, and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Ealier this month, a police pursuit involved a vehicle traveling east on Main Street village of Malone. It lasted for 23 miles before the suspects lost control of the vehicle crashing into a gas pump barrier. Davenport and Symonds fled the scene on foot. Troopers engaged in a physical altercation with Davenport, where Davenport attempted to gain control of the Troopers division issued firearms. Davenport eventually gained control of a Troopers division issued taser, using it unlawfully against them. USBP agent assisted with the altercation and was able to help get control of Davenport. Symonds and Davenport were arrested and transported to SP Malone for processing.
