The results of a recent Ironman Lake Placid survey show that the community is nearly evenly split on their support of the triathlon, but the majority of survey participants are in favor of the race continuing locally. DEC announces that online registration for DEC’s 2022 Summer Camps program will open Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 1 p.m. The Summer Camps program offers week-long adventures in conservation education for children ages 11-17. DEC operates four residential camps for children including Camp Colby in Saranac Lake.
Derek Doty is North Elba’s new town supervisor. The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports the votes have yet to be certified, but currently Doty holds a 58 vote lead after absentee and affadavit ballots were counted. Doty has 851 votes to Jay Rand’s 793. The results should be certified in about a week.
